7th Hole...A Life Time Adventure!

Times:

  • x4 2½ hr training sessions required in Muscat prior to departure
  • Hotel pick-up at 12pm midday (or to suit if 3+ guests)
  • Hotel drop-off by 4pm the following day

What to bring/wear:

  • Suncream, sunglasses, hat
  • Overnight bag, wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes and trainers
  • Sleeping bag (available upon request)
  • A head for heights!

Walk-in cave
What you will do:

Descend into one of the biggest cave chambers in Oman: 7th Hole.

This is a fantastic opportunity to experience one of Oman's cathedral type caves, descending slowly into the cavern below, absorbing the geological features as you pass by. This free hanging abseil is approximately 120mts deep, with shafts of light from above illuminating the way down and enabling you to walk round and explore the bottom of the cave. The abseil in is mind blowing!

You will climb out from the big sump cauldron, with its chunky foot and hand holds. Using your newly learned Jumar techniques will make it easier to progress up the 3 cauldrons to the wadi entrance;

The walk out is very impressive walking, surrounded with differing rock formations that have been sculpted by water flow.

Trip includes:

  • Instructors
  • Full equipment
  • 2x2,5 hours of training prior to the trip to ensure you are familiar with the equipment and skills you need.

  • Overnight on the Selma Plateau
  • Caving from dawn to mid-afternoon.

Note: This activity is not suitable for under 16yrs.

!! A reasonable standard of fitness is required to do this trip as there is a long descent, walking and scrambling involved.
